Real Madrid are preparing to launch a bid of £70 million for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque.

The Gabonese striker has been one of Arsenal’s best performers since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018. This season has been no exception to that rule, with his goals winning or rescuing points for the struggling Gunners on a rather regular basis. He has so far bagged 12 goals in 17 games in the Premier League and the Europa League combined.

The 30-year-old, currently the team captain since Granit Xhaka was stripped of the role, is under contract until 2021, and he has already been linked with Barcelona as they seek a successor for Luis Suarez. However, it seems that Real are prepared to go toe-to-toe with their arch-rivals for his signature, as was the case with Luka Jovic earlier this year.

Apparently, Real are prepared to include James Rodriguez into a potential deal.
