Philippe Coutinho has so far thoroughly failed to justify the €160 million Barcelona spent to bring him in from Liverpool, despite it supposedly being his “dream move”.

Consequently, a large number of reports contemplated the possibilities surrounding his future lately, and many believe that the Catalan giants may well cash in and cut their losses.

Sport, however, now say that the Brazilian is about to be given one final chance to convince the club to keep him. Ousmane Dembele, usually deployed on the left attacking flank ahead of Coutinho, will be missing for a while, and while that has happened before, Coutinho will now be playing for his future at the Camp Nou in earnest.

Barcelona are set to play local rivals Espanyol after the international break, as well as Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, before they take on Manchester United in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Apparently, after the two-legged tie against a club with which Coutinho has been linked, Barcelona heads will sit down with the playmaker’s representatives to discuss the options for the future.
