Competition: La Liga

Market: Celta Vigo win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 3/5 @ Bet 365

With the chance to officially announce another season of La Liga football, Celta Vigo will host Rayo Vallecano at the Abanca-Balaídos on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Celta Vigo may have suffered a 3-1 loss away at a resurgent Athletic Bilbao last weekend, it has been a bright end to the year for Fran Escribá’s side. All but securing another season in Spain’s top-tier, a huge part of their recent revival has been their continued performances at the Abanca-Balaídos. Celta have won their last four matches on home soil, a run that also saw them pick up a 2-0 win over Barcelona earlier in the month. One man to watch on Saturday will be leading goalscorer and attacking talisman, Iago Aspas. Scoring Celta’s consolation goal against Bilbao last weekend, the Spanish international has 18 goals this season, including eight in his last eight.

As for the visitors, while Celta Vigo may have managed to secure another campaign in La Liga, Rayo Vallecano have already confirmed an immediate return to the second-tier. Coming off the back of a 2-1 loss at home to fellow relegation scrappers Rayo Valladolid last weekend, Paco Jémez’s side have recorded just a pair of victories since the 28th of January and they have continued to struggle on the road this year. Vallecano have lost their last eight matches away from the Estadio de Vallecas and have conceded two or more goals in each of those defeats. Given Celta’s impressive form in Vigo, we’re backing the hosts to come away with the final day victory on Saturday.
