“Apart from the fact I’d like to play more, I’m happy. I have a certain status in the squad because I’m one of the more experienced players. I feel I’m one of the leaders.”

Those are the words of Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri who has made it clear that he’s still happy with being a member of the first team squad at Anfield despite not getting consistent time in the starting XI.

Shaqiri has a tendency to put on the occasional world class performance for Liverpool, before putting together a string of inconsistent showings.

The European champions have kept him on the books as a fringe player, despite many believing that he’d be moved on from the club during one of the most recent transfer windows.

While sides around Europe may be interested in acquiring his services, it certainly doesn’t appear as if he’s going to be leaving Merseyside anytime soon.
