Leicester City manager Claude Puel the widely reported interest in James Maddison can only be a good thing for the club.

Speaking to the press ahead of the 3-1 Premier League defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, Puel said it was important for young players, Maddison and all the others, to find consistency. He believes Maddison was playing extremely well at the start of the season and he has challenged the 22-year-old to find that kind of form again, and deliver a bigger influence in their games.

Given his age, it is quite normal for Maddison to experience fluctuations of form at this point in his career, according to his manager, and his development should go in the direction of steadying that trend and delivering good performances on a regular basis.

But what the interest in Maddison proves, as Puel believes, is that they are doing a good job with their young players, and therefore, it can only be a good thing that they are being mentioned as big-club targets.
