Manchester City almost lost Leroy Sane this summer, but now they will be making sure they do not get in that situation again any time soon. According to the Standard, the champions of England will be offering the Germany international a new contract in order to make sure he will be staying at the Etihad for much longer.

Big part of the past summer, there were numerous links between Bayern Munich and the player, as the Bavarian side wanted to sign Sane. Manchester City almost panicked at one point, when it looked like Bayern would actually get the player, but then Sane’s injury occurred. He was injured in the Community Shield and has been since ruled out of action until February 2020.

That meant he would be staying at Man City, but Pep Guardiola and Txiki Beguiristain would like to see him stay for longer than just current season. That is why Man City are expected to offer the 23-year-old a new contract soon.
