Aston Villa are back in Premier League and are preparing their squad for a crucial season which will see them fight for survival in England’s top flight. Former European champions had spent three seasons in the Championship and now upon returning to Premier League, they are looking to bring in some talented Championship players too.

According to Sky Sports News, that is what will happen with Ezri Konsa, as Aston Villa are expected to complete the £12m deal for Brentford’s defender. Sky Sports claim Konsa passed his medical on Wednesday night and on Thursday he is expected to sign for Aston Villa.

Konsa was signed by Villa manager Dean Smith for Brentford last season and now his release clause has been met by the Premier League newcomers. There are only minor details left to be agreed upon regarding the player’s contract and then the England U-21 international will be announced.
